Things Like This - Theatrical Influencer Marketing
To launch the theatrical release of the original LGBTQ+ rom-com Things Like This, MKM partnered with MPX and filmmaker/star Max Talisman to execute a heartfelt, high-energy influencer campaign that combined in-person screenings, premiere events, and custom creator content across three major U.S. cities.
Washington, D.C. – Advance Screening + Cast Q&A
The campaign kicked off in D.C. with an exclusive influencer sneak peek screening of the film. Thirteen creators and their guests were treated to an early look at the rom-com, followed by a live Q&A with cast and a VIP after-party.
New York City – Press Junket + Red Carpet Premiere
In NYC, we supported the hybrid press junket through an influencer roundtable hosted by Max Talisman, plus four additional creator interviews. That evening, 30 influencers walked the red carpet for the world premiere, followed by a packed after-party at a downtown ping pong bar (IYKYK). Content ranged from GRWMs and creator commentary to heartfelt reviews and red carpet reels.
Los Angeles – Premiere Screening + VIP Reception
The campaign wrapped in LA with another high-energy red carpet event featuring a cast Q&A and post-screening VIP reception. Seventeen influencers and press guests attended and shared their experience live from the premiere.
Total Organic Social Reach: 9.4M+
To keep the momentum going online, MKM engaged additional LGBTQ+ creators to produce branded content inspired by the film. From location-based rom-com reenactments and comedic skits to “couple convos” and heartfelt reactions, adding a fresh layer of visibility across TikTok and Instagram.
